Hi
We
spent a wonderful day with you in January 2009
and were then taken to the Rockhampton Rugby
Club for dinner. We've seen the recent news of
flooding in the area and hope that you are
safe and well.

My husband and I
(Alan and Linda Gravitt from Atlanta, Georgia)
stayed at your wonderful farm in June 2007.
It was the highlight of our month in Australia.
We have been horrified by the pictures of the
Queensland floods, and our hearts go out to all
of you. We hope your farm has somehow
avoided the devastation. If you have an
opportunity to put something on your website to
let people know, it would be appreciated by many
of your former guests. And if there is anything
we can do to help from the other side of the
world, let us know too.
|
|
Dear Peter, Olive
and Lyn,
We visited you in Dec 2007 and have very fond
memories of yourselves, the
farm workers and of course the animals. We were
so pleased to read on your
website that you are all well and coping with
the situation, as best you
can.
It breaks my heart to hear the animals are
stressed but I'm pleased they
have found refuge on your farm and we know you
will look after them well.
For those in your community who are suffering
losses, is there any way we
can help? Myella and the region, hold fond
memories for so many people
across the world. We cannot be physically there
to help but maybe we can
help financially or with the supply of needed
items. You have the best
position to be able to assess what the acute
needs of the community are at
the moment. Could share this information on your
website? I'm sure so many
people would like to help.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Best wishes from Germany,
Christy and Bastian
P.S. One question - was the pub saved? I love
that pub :

Hey Lyn - hope the
new year has started off well for you all. How
wet are you? I am fine down here the water
didn't get to close but Bundy now has a really
delightful smell to it:) Mandy

|
Dear Peter, Olive
& Lyn,
Have been
thinking of you up there, worried that the
flooding may be affecting you, your home and
animals. I do hope that all is well with you and
that somehow you may have avoided the
devastation and be okay. We have been following
the tragedy on the news etc. so naturally I am
thinking of you all.
With love &
best wishes Jenny Grant (Eather - Arch &
Jean's daughter)

Hi
there,
I'm an Irish guy and I stayed on your farm in
2001 - the website brings back great memories!
I'm working on a piece for my newspaper about
the flooding in Queensland - has it affected
your area at all?
Fergal
Thanks
for your reply, Lyn. Glad to hear you're not
suffering too much and hope it stays that
way. I imagine your/your cousin's dog
(Buster?) has gone to chase that big cow in the
sky but, oddly, his spirit lives on here
whenever we meet a canine with attitude.
Keep dry!

|
Dear Olive, Peter
and Lyn,
Maria and me visited your farm in November last
year.
Although we just stayed for one night it was
very interesting and
we will never forget it.
It was exciting to feed the cute baby kangaroo
and to go for "snake search" in the
garden. :-)
But it´s so awful to see all the bad news on tv
concerning the flooding in Australia.
I hope everything´s ok with you and you are not
touched by this disaster?
It´s unbelievable to see pictures of the flood
disaster in such a beautiful region where we
spent our holiday just few weeks ago.
It would be great hearing from you that you are
all fine.
Best wishes from Germay
Christiane

Hello,
I send you a small message of support with
regard to the floods victims of which you are.
I do not know in which point you are concerned
but I am wholeheartedly with you and all people
(affected by the water.
hope that you are well and that all your animals
are safe.
I think in Australia a lot and I pray so that
everything is reduced as fast as possible.
Friendly thoughts.

Hi
Lyn
Just
a
little
greeting
from
the
other side
of the world
-
more specifically,
Denmark.
I
know
you
have
many
visitors
during
the last year,
so
that you
have
a
chance
to
remember
us,
I just
posted
a
few
pictures.
We are
thinking a lot about
you
right
now that
we
can continuously
monitor
the
flooding
in
your
area
in Australia.
It's
quite
incomprehensible that
normally
you are
talking
about
lack of water
and
the year after
the
disastrous
much water.
We feel
with
you
and
the
struggle
you
have
whit the
water
masses.
In
Denmark,
we have winter
and
for
the second
consecutive year
we've
had snow
more than 3
months.
It is absolutely
incomprehensible and
abnormal.
When we
left
your
farm,
we offered that
you
could come and
visit
us
– and we hope that you will. The
offer
remains
open,
and
to the
extent
we
have
time,
we would
naturally
like to
show you
something of
our country.
Accommodation
is
certainly
free
to
you
J
Well,
it
was
just
a
little message
for
the "other side".
Hope you
all are safe -
best wishes
from
Denmark.

Dear people of
Myella farm,
Wondering if you are still alright, I've just
read the flood notice on your website. Good
to read that you still ok considering the
conditions, but I feel sad for the whole
community.
Floods anywhere in the world have a lot of
impact on the people living there, and make me
feel sad. But since I stayed in Rockhampton and
had a daytrip to Myella farm in september
2010 I feel kind of connected to this place. I
hope you are still alright, and hope the weather
will get better soon, so the community can start
to repair and get trough the damage done.
Best wishes,
Bart (from the Netherlands)

Hello Lyn and
family,
We follow the news
on the flood in your region and we read your
message on the website. Hopefully you're still
alright.
We were at your
farm last august and had een great time. Robin
is asking how are Wally and Mustard?

Dear
Lyn, Olive and Peter,
We have been
hearing about the rain and floodwaters in
Queensland on the BBC news and checked your
website to see if you had any news.
We were so glad to
read that you have managed to escape the worst
of the floods - but so sorry to hear of the
distress of your neighbours.
We think of you
all very often, especially as this time last
year we had only just returned from our two
month trip in Australia. Myella stands
out as one of the highlights of the trip - the
hospitality of the three of you and the
pleasure we had riding the horses (me) and the
bikes (Tony) brings a smile to our faces when
we talk about it.
We hope it's not
too long before your life returns to normality
and the sandflies disappear and give the
livestock peace and quiet.
Kind regards to
you all,
Sally and Tony

Hello
Lyn
Thank you for your email - you must have
forgotten you'd even sent it by now - forgive
me, please let me explain. But first can I say
how very sorry I am to be watching news footage
of the terrible floods in Queensland. I saw
Rockhampton on the news - I thought of you. Are
you and the family ok? What's happened at the
Myella - I am really hoping that you haven't had
your lovely farm flooded -
I kept thinking about your Mum and Dad and the
animals and everything - it's so awful.
After staying at Myella, I continued on down to
Sydney & then spent 2 months in New Zealand
I
would love to hear about whats happened with you
guys - And
I'm praying that by some miracle the farm has
escaped the flood waters ..
Kind Regards
Izzy

Hi there,
My friend Lindsay and I stayed at your lovely
farm back in November 2003, it was one of the
highlights of our travels around Australia.
We've both been really concerned about the
flooding in Queensland and whether you've been
affected or managed to escape it?
Sending all our love and thoughts to all those
affected by the floods.
Fiona and Lindsay.

Hi
We are following the news with great interest
and concern. Such a catastrophe.
We were happy to read that you are doing well,
considering, although our daughter is very
concerned about the animals.
Please take care. You and your community
will be in our thoughts.
Paul and Dorothé
(we will stay with you from 28th July thru 1st
August next)

I'm
thinking about you all at this time, and hope
the floods stay away from ye. I stayed with ye
in 2007. I was with Annie Hayward with the
Lets Trek group. I had a brilliant time with
ye. I had the unfortunate incident of falling
off your oldest horse
while getting on
. So
I was a little unlucky but I think of it and
laugh now. It was all part of the fun. I did
get on him straight away again and joined the
horse trek around the land. I loved it.
Hope
ye are all keeping well and happy

Hello
Lyn and the rest of the Myella gang
There
is nary a TV newscast these days that does
not show the catastrophic floods in
Queensland. This morning I saw a map in the
local newspaper showing the enormous
geographic extent of the area under
water and Myella Farm was in the middle of
it. We spent one night (too short...!)
at the farm last November (2010).
So
I checked your web site and learned that you
are relatively better off than some of your
neighbours even though the damage is
considerable and the conditions are tough.
Just
wanted to let know that we frequently think
of you and hope that the ordeal ends
quickly and you return back to normal as
soon as possible.
Hang
in there and good luck.

Pat
and I stayed with you in December '07 and had
a great time. Very pleased to read that you
are all OK - even if very soggy!
Hope
that the water goes down and you can get back
to business again, soon.
Kind
regards

I
was just checking your website to see if
you've been affected by the flooding - hope
everyone there is OK.
My
wife and I visited in 2003, and had the time
of our lives! Now we've started a family we're
planning to move back to Australia next year,
and as we have relatives up in Toowomba we're
thinking of swinging by Myella for a couple of
days with the kids - and I see you have a
competition on the go! Please find attached
four photos which hopefully capture the great
time we had last time!

are our contact details:

Hi!
just wondering if you've been hit by the
flooding, and came across your
photo competition. The kids still talk
about our week with you and often
beg to come back. Lucy is now 13, Dougal 11 and
Jamie is 7.
He looks like a tiny dude on that big horse...
Doodles? Looking closely,
seems he made a big mess all over his face
eating your fabulous morning tea
cookies!

Dear Lyn, dear
Olive, dear Peter,
I wish you a happy new year.
I am Kerstin, one of your guests, who were last
year in February with you on
the farm. If you do not remember me, perhaps the
photos may help you. I like
to remember the good times, even though they
were far too short.
On television I see again and again reports on
the floods in Queensland. I
really hope that your farm is not affected. It
would be very nice if you
would let me know about your situation. I hope
the best for you, your
neighbors and all your horses, cattle,
kangaroos, ...
I'm in thoughts with you, and keep my fingers
crossed.
Yours sincerely
Kerstin |

Good
afternoon Peter, Olive and Lyn
Damian
and I were just watching the news and
are recognising all the town names in the
surrounding areas that are under water and are
hoping that you and all the animals
(especially Pink Floyd and Harry) are keeping
well and that the floods have not affected
you. We have also had a lot of rain in
the last two months and we are still trying to
finish the Bypass at Alstonville. The
project is running so late now because of all
the wet weather.
Damian
still speaks of his time on the farm very
often and is sure to return at some stage.
The two of us are doing well after a very
difficult year and is looking forward to the
New Year.
Wishing
you well for the New Year.

Hello Lyn
We have seen with FB than they have been
dammages in QUEENSLAND
We think very hardly in these difficult moments
by hoping that you of dammages not too much;
2011 is a new year which begins and it is the
moment when never to wish you peace, happiness
and comfort

Dear Lyn,
first of all: HAPPY
NEW YEAR to you and your
family.
We do hope, you had wonderful Christmas holidays
and you got lots of presents.
We have heard and seen in the Germany TV that big
parts of Queensland are flooded and
more then 200.000 people had to leave
their houses. Especially Rockhampton and
surroundings are effected by these rainfalls.
More then the area of Germany and France
together are flooded.
We do hope that you are not concerned by this
tragedy. We cannot believe that the land we have
seen when travelling to and from your farm
is now under yellow/brown and dirty water.
We wish you a good and prosperous New Year full
of health and success. Please give our kind
regards to your parents and all the best for the
future.
Love Renate & Egon |

Hi
to all of you at Myella
We hope
you remember us! We came the first week
of last May when the flights back to the UK
were suspended because of the volcano ash.
We stayed in the en-suite next to Lyn.
We
are wondering if you have been affected by the
dreadful weather stories we are hearing about
for the North of Queensland. The
pictures on our news service show vast areas
underwater, apparently as big as most of
Northern Europe. However, sometimes it
is exaggerated!
We
were flooded out in the summer of 2007 - not
badly thank goodness, just enough to warrant a
new kitchen, floors and chairs etc. courtesy
of the insurance company.
We
have just had a month of minus temperatures.
Down to - 12c at times. So while
you have been hot - we have been absolutely
freezing. Literally. We had 10
inches/25cm of snow. The whole area came
to a complete stop. It looked really
pretty, but unless you had a 4-wheel drive,
you were stuck. Then freezing fog.
An English weather thing - but when the
moisture freezes on the trees it is like a
picture of a Christmas scene. Very, very
pretty.
The
snow has nearly all gone now, thanks to rain.
So it is a real mess. All the cattle are
now in sheds which makes it a lot easier, but
the horses go out daily and it is horrible.
There are a few sheep on the farm, but they
seem to be fine, and so far their field is ok.
(Remember our fields are about like your home
paddocks near the hens!)
So,
hopefully you have escaped the worst - do let
us know. We so enjoyed our stay with you
- one of the highlights of our trip, and
unexpected as we should have been home!
Maybe
see you once again. If ever anyone is in
the UK, do come and see us.
A
very Happy New Year to you all.
Pam and Phil Walker.

Olive, Peter,
I spent a week on your farm in 2004 and it
was one of the best holidays I've ever had (I
was recommending it to a friend of mine just
last week). I have just seen the news
about the floods in your area and was concerned
about you.
I hope everything is ok and you're not too badly
affected.
Kindest regards,

Hello
Lyn
Two
years ago I’ve spent one week on your farm. It
was one of the best holidays ever – I’ll
never forget the beautiful rids, the wonderful
sunsets and your perfect hosting.
Seeing
all those horrible TV pictures from the flood in
Queensland, I was wondering how you, your family
and the horses are going.
I
hope your farm isn’t suffering too much.
Wish you all the best.
Best regards from Switzerland,
Katja

Hi Lyn & all
at Myella,
Happy New Year, hope you had a lovely Christmas.
I can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since
my last visit so I hope all is going well.
I just wanted to contact you to check whether
you are affected by the flooding? We've been
following Rockhampton on the news and it looks
devastating.
I hope you're all doing OK.
Best wishes to all,

Dear all,
Last year I spent two days at your farm with my
Chinese friend.
Now the floods are in the German news every day,
especially reporting about Rockhampton. I was
thinking about the afflicted residents and
especially you... Good to read that you are
safe.
I wish the best for you and the people in the
flooded areas. Hopefully, everything will be
fine now. May good give you all the patience and
power you need to come through this and to
recover.
Sending you all my love and best wishes from
Germany, Johanna

Hi Olive, Peter
and Lyn
You have all been very much in our thoughts over
the festive season, when we learned of the
devastating floods which have hit your region.
It was with a certain amount of relief that we
read Lyn's update on your website today and
learned that Myella is above the flood waters
and that you have not been so badly affected as
many of the people in your region.
We stayed with you in February 2009 and have
wonderful memories of your cattle station.
Our time with you is something we will never
forget.
We will watch the website for further news and
sincerely hope that you will soon dry out and
things can return to something like normal
there.
Be assured that your many friends are thinking
of you and wishing you well
Warmest wishes from
Jenny & Alan (Paley)

Hello Lyn,
Do you remember us? We are Victory, Joy, Barbara
and Alexander the Italian
family.
I am writing to wish you and your family best
wishes for happy holidays.
Also in Italy we receive bad news on the floods
in Australia especially in
the area of Rockhampton. I hope that does not
cover even your farm.
How are you? And your parents?
We are all well and I remember with great
affection.
I send you some photos taken on your farm.
Joy and Victory would you call all day because
you stayed in their hearts
and send best wishes on your birthday to
Natalie.
A big kiss from Italy.
