To Myella with love...

We drove in on Sunday, an hour or two late
The wind had been mighty; the storms had been great.
As we pulled to a stop, a smile twitched at our lips
A crowd of cute, Irish guys were cracking their whips!
"Wehey!" thought the Blondies, "We’re in for some fun
And our time at Myella has only just begun..."

Majestic Myella, what a great place
Beautiful views and plenty of space.
First we’re off to milk the cows
‘Grab’ those tits and milk it now!
Watch the leg! Hold the bucket!
Mind that calf, he wants to suck it!
Feed young Pete, he’s lost his Mum
But he doesn’t look particularly glum.
"Oh, look at her, she’s so cute!"
"That’s our Ghost and she’s a beaut'!"

C’mon gang there’s horses to feed
Jump on the bikes and go get our steeds.
A scoop of this, a cup of that
When they’re done, go get your hat.
"So, what’s all this stuff that you call ‘tack’?
How am I supposed to get that on its back?"
"Oh right, now I see, that’s a good explanation,
But fixing that knot’s like a quadratic equation."
Okay, we’re all ready, it’s time for the ‘off’
But will Jude ever get Dave’s head out of the trough?
En route! We’re off to find a herd
Whoa! Watch out for that crazy bird!
Hold your horses, he’s swooping again
Why does that magpie never go for the men?

Back to the farm and sort the lot
Is this a ‘bottom’, a ‘maybe’ or even a ‘top’?
"What now?" cry the tourists. Boy, what are they like?
Go grab a helmet, we’ll show you the bikes.
Clutch in, now roll it and check you’re not in gear
Flick it up, put the revs on and remember to steer.
Don’t rev it too much, I mean it Kate, really,
Otherwise you’ll just end up doing a wheelie!

The day draws to a close and evening is nigh
Crack open some homebrew, this stuff’s worth a try!
Crowd round the campfire, play a few games
Wow! Look at those stars... hey Paul, what’s its name?
The beautiful sky had us gazing in awe
I’ve never seen stars quite like these ones before...
And as day dawns again we’re beginning to see
That there’s nowhere we can think of that we’d rather be.
We started on three days and have now gone to six,
We’ll be back in a fortnight for another quick fix!

And why’s it so fab'? Well, listen to this
There are some people here that we really will miss:
The Myella gang is a real top crew
They’re amazingly talented with the things that they do.
Olive and her milking - boy is she fast
If you blink too quickly she’s finished the task.
And then there’s Peter with tales to amaze
His poems astound you in several ways.
He twists and he turns as the story unfolds
But watch for his whip ‘cos his cracking is bold!
Lyn’s like her Dad and tells a good rhyme
Put her on Billy T and she’ll have a fab time!
Touch-footie’s a sport she’s been trying to teach us
We nearly got ‘the kids’ but we missed the schoolteachers
And she wasn’t the only one streaming down the field
There’s another crazy player whose scar’s still not healed.
"Our favourite cowboy" he wins that hands down
In the middle of nowhere Paul wrestles big browns!
He likes a few bevvies and doesn’t mind a smoke
But if you want him up for 5 it’s a bit of a joke!

All in all they’re a top class bunch
They do a fab breakfast, dinner and lunch
And of course we can’t forget our "babes"
There’s Echo and Isis and Warrata and Dave
And Cooljo, Cowboy, Candy and Princess
In fact, all 35 have us really impressed.
What else can I say? We’ve had a great time
And I can’t do it justice when I’m trying to rhyme...
But there’s one more thing I have to say
Before we pack our bags and wend our way:
A visit to Myella you must make
If not for the horses, then for the chocolate cake!
