POSITIONS VACANT  

Sometimes at Myella we are looking for cleaners and painters; however at present we have no work at Myella.

Many people ask for a “Dream Job with horses” and I don’t know anyone who would offer this type of work.  From my experience it takes too long to explain what is happening with cattle work and it’ just too dangerous and you really aren’t much help to be honest.

If you are prepared to do simple behind the scenes jobs then send answers the below questions and I will forward them to farmers I know in our area. 

These property owners mostly graze cattle on grass and a few grow crops; they do not have staff and are use to working on their own. 

FARM MAINTANCE

• Fix broken door catches – carpenter skills

• Service vehicles – mechanical skills

• Remove old barbed wire fences 

• Mow lawn with ride on – mechanical skills to fix what you break

HOUSE KEEPING

• Wash windows/walls/vehicles

• Mop and dust the house 

• Detail clean kitchen cupboards and fridges

• Prune garden plants and weed the garden

• Paint hand railings 

• Oil timber veranda floors 

You could help by doing these jobs while the farmers gets on with their jobs.    

1. List your practical working skills i.e. I have skills as I am a mechanic, carpenter, cook, 
    cleaner or gardener

2. The minimum wage you will accept or if you want to work for meals and accommodation and the hours you expect to work each day

3. If you have your own transport and can drive legally in Australia.

4. The length of time you are available to work and when you could be ready to commence

5. The amount of spoken English/Australian you understand

6. List any special dietary or medical conditions that you have

7. The reason you want a rural job in the Rockhampton/Baralaba area

CLEANING WORK AVAILABLE FOR TWO MONTHS OR MORE

We are looking for someone who is/has 

• Good work ethics and very hard working

• Good time management skills and is organized

• Good attention to detail and the motivation to get the job done
  

Please think very seriously about the position and if it’s for you. The work is quite repetitive, is not very exciting and is quite physical.

What I’m trying to say if you are not really interested then please don’t apply! 

Details about the cleaning position 

• 5 days a week and 8hrs per day 

• Cleaning rooms average 5 per day

• Cleaning an average of 5 showers and toilets per day 

• Mopping floors

• Making beds neatly with hospital corners

• Washing, hanging and folding linen and ironing pillow cases

• And assisting in the kitchen 

We pay award wages and offer a meals and accommodation package  

HOUSE PAINTING JOB

Myella farm stay is repainting the office and accommodation

There is a painting position available for one experienced person for 5 days a week for a minimum of 1 month

The position involves sanding, undercoat and painting walls and ceilings with oil based paint
