Norman
helps at Myella farm
He’s softly spoken with country charm
With riding boots and wranglers new
White cowboy hat, belt buckle too
He comes to help in his old ute
On any day, he’ll make it suit
He can break a horse ‘n’ rope a calf
A sense of humour that makes you laugh
He shows the guests how to ride
And does farm jobs in his stride
Repairs a fence and milks a cow
If you’re not sure, he’ll show you how
One
day at horse riding time
With guests and Norm in total nine
They looked at dark clouds in the sky
Was sure the storm had gone right by
So off they rode the mood was good
And to the ridge, they went and stood
Then
Norm said, "Team we must go back"
"The weather’s turned the clouds look
black"
Before the group had moved an inch
The lightning stuck it made ‘em flinch
It sent a shock through every one
A guest on horse, she tried to run
But
cool old Norm kept his head
"We must go slowly," he calmly said
"Our group of riders must stick
together"
"It’s important in this stormy
weather"
We’ll make it home it won’t take
long"
Then the thunder roared ‘n’ rain fell
strong
Tension
grew the horses pranced
As through the wind ‘n’ hail they danced
The storm grew wild and some trees fell
Which way home, they couldn’t tell
Norm knew the way he was not lost
He’d return them safely, at any cost
The
horses jogged on slippery ground
Norm led them home all safe and sound
The storm grew quiet and it all worked out
It always does, I have no doubt
So, however bad things may seem
It works out in Norman’s team
And
if you meet him, along the track
And he mumbles quietly, "Can I help you
Jack?"
He’s a loyal man through and through
He’ll be your friend and care for you
So accept his help don’t hesitate
It’s not a worry, coz he’s a mate
