MYELLA POEM

I wanted to let people know about the great times I’ve had
So I started thinking hard and got my pen and notepad
Then tried to write the odd line and verse down;
Some of the poem is silly but I hope it won’t make you frown.

Myella has horses and motorbikes all in one place;
A whole range of activities to put a smile on your face
A true outback experience, different to the rest of the East Coast
That’s why it’s one of the things in Australia that I like the most

Horse riding is one of the main activities at the farm
With guides always on hand to make sure no one comes to harm
Riding each morning through the wide open paddocks and laneway
With so many different horses, you can almost choose a new one each day

 After lunch, the motorbike students learn their stuff
Then they’re free to ride around ‘til they’ve had enough
Mustering the horses each morning or riding round the 7km track
Then riding up to sunset and beating the darkness back

The running of Myella farmstay is a three-way family affair
With days off or the chance of a holiday being oh so rare!
Lyn is always on hand to tell jokes, stories and rhymes
Hoping that after she finishes them, people will laugh sometimes

 Olive is always busy in the kitchen cooking up daily delights
Food so good that people lick the plates clean most nights
Whilst Peter is an expert in bush poetry;
Give him an audience, and recite verses all night can he

The rest of the Myella team definitely deserve a mention
For all the hard work they do each day without exemption
Looking after guests and keeping them entertained on the farm
Whether there are 6 or 60 people staying, they always turn on the charm

 Nikki is the best cow milker and cookie chef in town
And on standby as a firey, in case the place burns down
Shane is the motorbike man; he really knows his stuff
But when grading his students, sometimes he’s got to be tough

 Trevor is the horse man; at teaching people to ride he’s good
But watch out for his wrath, if you don’t get on and off like you should!
Kelsie and Mel are the main horse riding guides
Always making sure that guests have fun and enjoy their daily rides

Russell is the multi-talented maintenance man about the place
With the ability to make hot curries that will bring tears to your face
And though Nelly’s not permanent and she sometimes comes and goes
Everyone loves talking to her because all the gossip she knows

 Toby the dog has extensive skills at chasing kangaroos
But they’re too fast for him, and it’s a race he’s always going to loose
And who could forget Harry, the world’s strangest looking cockatoo
Always looking for fuss, attention and cuddles from somebody new

To summarise all the things about Myella which are great
Would take far more than this poem and maybe also a black board slate
A great range of activities and a fantastic staff team;
Makes a perfect combination, of which most people can only dream

So keep doing the things that make the farm special and unique
Then for years to come, good things about Myella , people will speak
Guests of all nationalities and ages will continue to visit
And after staying a few days, they’ll help spread the word that Myella is exquisite!
