After
dinner one night Alex read the below
poem in front of us all...it is a
proposal of marriage to Lynn from
Scotland. The same morning Lyn
Eather had taken a picture of their
hands, touched by the sun! So that
night these nice sunburnt hands held an
engagement ring!! Congratulations and
thanks for sharing a wonderful moment
with us... It was Lynn's birthday the
same day...enjoy
Happy
Birthday Lynn……
Now
there once was a fella
Who
stayed at Myella
Along
with his girl and their boy
Milking
cows, - on a horse
Or
on the bikes, of course
Their
days were filled with joy
And
at night they would stag
By
the Fire and play
Late
night poker to hustle the guests
But
a Kiwi called Paul
Whose
bluff we did call
Only
to swat us like pests
With
Lyn and her jokes
Charming
all the blokes
Shane
– it was really a C+ not a C!
And
if you want to stay cool
Dutch
and Scots in the pool
-
Just ask Cameron if he liked
his dip..
But
I slightly digress
I
have something more to confess,
However
the next part I don’t want to skip..
And
remember , this fella
Eats
Steak , not paella
Unlike
his brave young cub
He’d
be out hunting spiders
And
much else besides
All
whilst eating a witchety grub
And
then there is Trevor
Who’s
really quite clever
Getting
all the horses ready to go
But
you’ll be in hot water
If
he ever caught yer
Turning
up late or ‘no show’
If
its knowledge you want
And
equines the font
Then
Taylor’s the gal to know
If
hospitality is the game
Then,
Peter, Olive ‘s the names
Of
the masters of the show
But
all this pre-amble
Well
it’s a bit of a gamble
Because
you see what I forgot
Was
that 18th December
Was
a day to remember
-
Like presents or else you’ll
be shot
So
I thought on the Loo
“what
on earth can I do”
Then
it came to me all in a flash
I
could ‘magic’ this ring
It’ll
be just the thing
-
It better be – it cost loads
of cash!
And
what I propose
And
I hope its unopposed
Is
that Lynn, you’ll say Yes or yippee
I’ll
make your tea every day
And
do what you say
Not
a bad deal I think you’ll agree
So
my darling, look in the box
With
sparkle of rocks
Let’s
tie the knot, not live in sin
I
know you’re embarrassed
And
I should have confessed
Anyway,
Happy birthday – my darling Lynn
