To My Dearest Sister Barbara

You’re generous and always looking out for me – thank you
You are determined and loyal – and I admire that in you
You care for me when I’m sick – and even when I’m not  

You’re been a really great sister – in fact the only one I’ve had
We have many good memories - they make me laugh and never sad
You’re devoted to your family and friends – and I respect that  

And I always know that you’re there for me - and I thank you
You’re always making me presents – glamorous ones too
You’re glamorous your self – and you always look great  

I hope you’ve had a good day - On your 40^th Birthday
At 6 o’clock this evening
 began to write these lines
Hoping for a Birthday Poem
Would just flow into rhyme  

What I wanted to say
Was that I do love you
And wish you a great day
I’ll write a better poem … when you’re 42!
